-Yoga With Divleen

KidsJoyYoga was born in 2017 in Bangalore. I had completed RYC 200 training when  an opportunity to teach yoga to children came my way, what started as a humble experience kicked a life long learning process. A mission was born to become better each day at connecting children with yoga in the form of Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana and Dhyana  to bring balance, flexibility and strength at all levels of a developing child.

Our core philosophy at KidsJoy Yoga is to connect young children with yoga in a positive way and to make them experience yoga beyond just the mat and the asanas. We believe that children are the most receptive subject group to accept and nurture the precious seeds of yoga that we try to sow during our sessions. We aspire the next generation to love yoga and inculcate it into their day to day lives

Yoga at an early age, sculpts young minds and bodies, giving tools that will enhance and support children to be balanced, creative, and calm individuals with a strong sense of who they are in relation to the world and in relation to themselves. It encourages self-esteem, concentration and body awareness and the ability to steer your way smoothly through life’s challenges

When yogis developed the asanas many thousands of years ago, they still lived close to the natural world and used animals and plants for inspiration—the sting of a scorpion, the grace of a swan, the grounded stature of a tree. When children imitate the movements and sounds of nature, they have a chance to get inside another being and imagine taking on its qualities. When they assume the pose of the lion (Simhasana) for example, they experience not only the power and behavior of the lion, but also their own sense of power: when to be aggressive, when to retreat. The physical movements introduce kids to yoga’s true meaning: union, expression, and honor for oneself and one’s part in the delicate web of life.

Story telling with yoga asanas, this helps the children not only know about the asana but also experience it in deeper way.

Fun yoga games as we introduce the different themes such as Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga, Breathing process, Skeletal system, Galaxies and much more

Noncompetitive and nurturing environment to enhance their creativity, strengthen their bodies and mind and boost self-esteem and confidence

Each class typically includes songs, games, and other fun activities that get kids moving together and learning from one another, particularly with partner yoga poses. This creates a positive, engaging environment in which kids can have fun, talk to one another, and learn to trust one another. It helps to cultivate increased self-esteem, self-confidence, and empathy within kids, which translates to more positive relationships with others by reflecting their positive attitude toward themselves onto others

Yoga Sutra Chanting

SuryaNamaskara: Practicing yoga asana requires concentration of both the mind and the body. We have to pay attention to the movement of our bodies and how our breathing coordinates with those movements. In their day-to-day lives, this translates to better focus and cognitive functioning at school, leading to improved academic achievement

KidsJoy Yoga we encourage you to be the best you can be, putting the focus on the self.

Helps to improve memory and cognitive function by creating focus within.

Positive affirmations are a great way to instil self confidence in children. At KidsJoy Yoga, we enhance each asana with positive affirmations giving a deeper imprint on the body and mind. These repeated affirmations translate into subtle positive changes in thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physical body.

Breath awareness : Awareness of the breath that help energize kids or encourage relaxation, depending on how we teach. Different games and techniques help kids connect to how their bodies feel as a result of deep breathing. Focus increases, as does their breathing and lung capacity.

Balancing Postures: Balancing poses teach children that with increased focus, one can increase attention naturally. Poses and games focused on balancing skills, develop an intrinsic strength, evoke a meditative feeling, and promote stillness and quieting of the mind.
